Although I am hardly starting my own film movement, I want to set myself some rules, these are to mainly insure that I keep the effect consistent and allow myself to never be distracted with modern advances in technology when producing MVFK work.
- The film must never be shot on a camera with a higher resolution than 640x480.
- The film can be stretched to a larger format in post, but may never be converted to actually have a higher format.
- When the footage is captured, any text on screen such as time codes, dates and stop and play symbols must be left intact. They may never be cropped out of the frame.
- Each piece of work produced for the MVFK project must be archived and recorded by number as MVFK.01, MVFK.02 and so on.
- Any diegetic sound recorded for the piece that is added in post must be then re-recorded through the same camera to give it the same quality as the footage, any added music and voiceover can be left clean.
- Any visual effects, text overlays, titles and credits must be shot using the same camera before it is added to the cut.
